Fantastic, cerebral scraping, eye pleasing realisations. I but try to break the shackles between two dimensions and the third, but you nail it completely. it was a real pleasure witnessing your work. 'Still Life' for example, how long did this beast of a creation take to construct? And do you work continuously on a piece until you're on the verge of burning out, or do you break it up by working on multiple pieces? Your work seems urgent yet utterly refined... Fucking cool.

What a great compliment! That baby sculpture was a work that I spent a bit of time on. Maybe a month...a few hours a night after work. I remember making that sculpture when I first came out to Hollywood. I was living in this crappy little room, and sleeping on a mat on the floor. I was already starting to dislike the artistic deadening affects of studio life and I would go home and pour my creativity into my personal work. The trapped feeling is directly related to what I began to experience around me.

You see a lot...most of my work is done in an almost desperate condition of an image in my head that I am fighting to pour out. If I do work in a causal attitude it ends up being an empty technical statue.
